Multiple Nelsons

This week in my Religion 211 New Testament Class we read a lot in the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).  One story that stuck out to me that Jesus gave was about the Widow's Mite. To give a little bit of context to this story: Jesus was teaching about taxes, celestial marriage, the two great commandments and the divine sonship of Christ along with the widow's mites.  He was giving a higher law instead of teaching about Moses' law. When we look at the widow, we see the focus on how strong her faith was.  She had NOTHING but the clothes on her back and the money in her hand.  She didn't have to give that little bit of "money" because she was poor, right? But you see, that is not the point.  Her gift to God was so "beautiful because it shows how deep her faith goes - all the way down to the pennies."  This week has been an interesting but also very inspiring week that I have encountered as a mom. I got sick over the weekend and so sick, that I could not do much for about 2.5 days. After finally feeling better, I was getting my older kids home from high school. I wasn’t fully better but enough to do “mom things.” This particular day, this past Tuesday, I was picking up four girls and so I didn’t get out of the parking lot like usual to “beat the crowds” of students. As we were pulling out and stopped in front of the school, the car in front of me didn’t move and put on its emergency lights. At that moment I look at the young women in front of me and got the feeling, she needs help. I hopped out of the car, traffic coming all around us into and out of the school and inquired. The young women had stalled out! She was scared and didn’t know what to do.
