A week of sickness

Image
Last week the boys where sick and we canceled everything.  Over the weekend we did some fun things at home to make up for the lull.  Me and the girls going to Cousin Elise's basketball game.  Don't worry, I am not driving, I stopped to take the picture to be safe!

Priceless Moment - Missa

Image
My next project - a quilt for my collection or to sell Classic Bed-head and the first day back to school after a long 4 day weekend. Priceless Moment brought to you by - Missa This morning's PRICELESS conversation: Missa - "Mom, can you pick me up from school?" Me - "Why?" Missa - "I want more time to play with my family" Me - thinking, ( Holy Cow!  is this for real)... I actually said, "Well I can, but what about Parker (girl she sits with on the bus)?? Missa - "Oh, yeah I forgot about Parker.  Well, I like her and she is fun, but I want more time to play at home". Me - "Has the been something going wrong on the bus?" Missa - "No" The bus came and she got on. Moments like this help me reflect that she really does love her family.  I was telling my mom (on a whim), "Maybe I should home-school."    I know the school system's day is WAY too long and I want them to come h...

Special Needs night @ Kids Museum

Image
Just another crazy afternoon with the four youngest before Missa gets home.  Every Quarter our local Kid's Museum has a FREE night for Special Needs Kids.  It is sponsored by local businesses.  We have gone once before and i thought to go as a reward for the kids' behavior I took the girls, b/c Jare Bear wanted to go to Cousin Elise's church basketball game. We also invited cousin Hannah and Aunt Colette (Uncle Daniel was at work).  The girls had a BLAST! Saturday mornings have become our work day!  We got a used truck a few weeks ago and they were helping watching daddy clean up the yard. My kids all lined up.  They are getting so big AND I am really enjoying this stage of life right now. Found this one "reading" on her bed in the morning.  Even though she doesn't "read" for real, this is priceless b/c she was pretending to read and retell the story.

Twin's IEPs

Image
This semester has started off fast and quick.  Our twins have/are in a CCK class (Cross Categorical Kindergarten class) at a traditional elementary school.  It was definitely a rough transition at the beginning of the school year... no teacher at the beginning of the year (substitute - who they actually miss dearly), permanent teacher in Mid-September, 2nd TA came in mid-October and then finally our Kindergarten schedule was in-line with the other classes.  LOTS of changes for the first 4 months of school. The purpose of this regional program (CCK) class is to further evaluate the special needs of these kids that don't fit a specialize/unit class or a normal Kindergarten class.  It gives them further testing, evaluations and time to see were each child is academically, socially and emotionally .  It also gives the children a chance to be "mainstreamed" into specials/electives or the academic parts of the day. We have had 2 IEP (Individual Ed...

After Christmas Ramblings

Image
This little guy got Tubes in his ears on the Monday after Christmas. Waiting like a big kid for lunch. New Years Day: A trip to the fabric store and still "hung over" after our New Year's Family party at our friends, the Harris house.  Which by the way was AWESOME! Playing horses nicely.  Don't worry, my kids aren't perfect just before this the kids were fighting. :) She read the words in this glasses case ALL be herself!  It says Hello Kitty, she said it was Happy Kitty.
