Multiple Nelsons

This fits my twins and I know my other two children feel the same as this little sister.   Very inspirational.

We found out this week that Jare Bear is for sure having more and more headaches/migraines.  Basically confirmed my suspicions all along (for at least a year and half now).   The Pseudo Brain Tumor ( I diopathic Intracranial hypertension ) in his head and behind his eyes is causing double the amount of pressure that a normal person should have. The problem is, it is really affecting his behavior b/c he is in constant pain.  His behavior over the past 3 months has really gotten bad and he has such a hard time at home and in public too.  We are giving him constant medicine to hopefully ease the pain.   The Eye docs will go in and measure the pressure.  If it is the same or higher then they will poke a pinhole behind his Optic Nerve ( optic nerve sheath decompression) to help with the spinal pressure (this is plan B, plan A didn't work).  This will be done in 2 weeks It hasn't been easy at home b/c he can't focus, the noi...

Opps.  Realized I forgot to post these: Crazy A is a good size 3 yr old!  Yeah.   Weight: 33 lbs (75th %) Height: 37.5 inches (50th %) It is funny, she has been my favorite child the since she was about 2 yrs old just b/c she was a good baby and good toddler.  (Don't we all have a favorite child throughout parenting!)   Then she started getting really whiny and attached to her blankie (she also sucks her fingers when she has the blankie, that is really the bigger problem).  Basically right after we moved to NC last Spring.  Last summer to just make things "easier" at the time I wasn't strict with it/her and I didn't put her in timeout b/c she was easy to please.  Well fast forward to last fall, she started to get more and more attached to her blankie and more difficult to handle.  Now at present day she is so attached to me, Troy, blankie and home that she won't go to our joyschool without me, won't go to Nursery Cl...

This week has again been filled again with the Stomach Virus: Baby D:  got it last Saturday and had it for at least 5 days.  He had low grade fevers and a loss of appetite.  It wasn't that bad until the 2nd night and then he would wake up screaming b/c his stomach hurt him so much.  For 3 consecutive nights (3x a night) he would do this.  Ugh.  Then he finally got better this past Thursday!!! Me: Oh man, after the lack of sleep for almost 2 weeks b/c of the kids getting sick my body finally cracked.  This past Wednesday it hit me hard and fast.  Vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and stomach cramps.  Here it is day 4 and I am still do not have any energy but at least I know can keep food down.  I haven't had anything this bad in 8 years.  The swine flu didn't even last this long for me (I took Tami-flu right away). The past 1.5 weeks has been full of this horrible Stomach virus. Each child has gotten it except for Baby D and I am still hoping he doesn't get it. We haven't past the incubation "time" frame yet so he could still get it. Every single one of them got ALL the symptoms: the "runs", vomiting, high fevers and a churning stomach.  The humidity is back!!!  Look at her beautiful curly hair. "Jare Bear" - got it first with a tummy ache for 2 days even before the sickness came.  His worst symptom was a very high fever for at least 2 days.  He was actually so good during the sickness and handle it well.  It took him a full 4-5 days to recover and get his appetite back. "Jacolena" actually playing with Baby D. "Jacolena" - got it next and she also had an upset tummy for 2 days, then she had a really high fever that caused seizures in the night.   Luckily it finally went away after 4-5 days and we didn't have to take her to...

Baby D chillin' in the stroller  Last weekend after "Jare Bear" was recovering from the Stomach Virus and before "Jacolena" got it.... we headed over to a local park with the grandparents.  Troy's Dad was in town visiting during Spring Break.  Since halfway through our plans got changed we switched gears and went on the carousel and train ride.  He is amazed at Grandpa Paul.  Me and my little spunky Crazy A.  I was having a really bad hair day.  Grandpa Dan sitting with Crazy A.  "Jare Bear" got to have his picture taken at the front of the train near the engine.  She absolutely loved the carousel!!!  His favorite park was the real big train.  My J Crew model husband.  "Jacolena" is getting to be so big.  "Missa" hated the carousel... it made her dizzy and scared.  But on the other hand she didn't mind climbing this high on the jungle gym! ...

Someone got into the nail polish and painted her own nails.  She did pretty good, but I now have to hide all cosmetic things from her. Update on Stomach virus:   So far it has gone through the twins and "Crazy A".  The twins have taken 3-4 days of full recovery.  "Jacolena" still isn't up to her full eating capacity but I think that is caused by other things.  "Crazy A" so far has gotten it the worse and I had to take her to the doctor to get some Zofram in her.  She is getting better but still can't eat a whole lot.  I am so hoping that Baby D and "Missa" do NOT get it.  But that is not likely.

This Spring Break I had planned to do LOTS of activities to keep the kids and myself busy.  You know how it can get when kids stay couped at home for long periods of time with nothing to do.  Imagine it!!!  Anyway, I had planned to go to: 1. 3-4 different parks, 2. Farmer's Market 3. Speech/Occupational Therapy 2x a week 4. Zoo 5. NC Railroad Museum 6. Museum of Natural Science So far we have done some of number 1 and number 3 .  Yesterday I had planned on going to number 6 but then woke up slightly dizzy and decided to play it low.  I went to a friends house and we chatted while the kids played (THANK YOU Ana!!!).  Everyday we  have planned to do something whether it be in the morning or afternoon.  Just depending on how the kids feel and how I am doing.  Well last night has stalled our plans... "Jare Bear" threw up and still has a high fever, he is currently sleeping.  In our family we rarely throw up, I can think of only a...

One morning this week (after it had rained in the night) I decided to let two of the kids go outside and have fun in the puddles. Crazy A was out there for a few minutes by herself and I took at least 15 pictures of her running.   She has no sensory issues, so it was easy for her to do this.  Well... she wanted to go change her pants at one point b/c they were WET!  But I said no, she was fine after that. Then "Jare Bear" came out.  Yep... he was very slow to wanting to jump in this puddle. It took some convincing from "Crazy A" to run through the puddle finally. Then when he ran through it he didn't want to be wet.  I told him to toughen up and play. They loved it.... Although, I set up a rule that they had to ask mommy first so before they do this next time.  We shall see if that holds up. :)

One of the activities we forgot to do on Easter Sunday and for Monday night FHE is Easter Rolling.  We usually do this when the Halls are in town but they are at the beach.  So tonight we did it finally. The object of the game is to roll your egg at your opponents egg at the count of three.  The first egg to crack loses.  You go through a "tournament bracket" and the last one standing is the Egg Rolling Champion.  "Jare Bear" especially loved this activity.  He was laughing (like below) so HARD!!!  I think we will carry on this tradition my sister taught us.

Easter Egg Dying Saturday afternoon we decorated eggs in "shifts".  From experience, I do NOT have all my kids decorate at the same time, it is a disaster.  So, Troy took the kids on scooter rides/played with them outside while each one took turns coming in and decorating.  Seem to work good. :) Three generation pictures with Troy's dad and baby D. Grandpa Dan is visiting this week. Easter Egg Hunt This year we invited all the family we have in town.  This year only two of my cousins and their families came over (23 people) b/c my other cousin/her kids and my aunt were all sick, my sister's family is out of town and my other sister was sick too. We almost forgot about the egg hunt because it was really relaxing to just sick, talk and let the kids play.
