January 2023 - Basketball Season

 Life is getting busier with almost 4 teenagers in the house and one 10 year old.  It is flying by so fast, there are days I barely can get a 20 minute nap!  There are also weeks where I only fix dinner once and that annoys me because I like home cooked meals.  There is no "witching hour" with little kids, constant help with daily chores (except Jackie), whining, or physical fighting.  I now have kids that come home exhausted and want to do NOTHING till dinner.   Now we have an occasional help with a homework assignment, kids that are self sufficient with the chores (maybe a reminder or two) and a chauffer to all their activities between the hours of 2-6pm. It is the kind of busy that I am ok with but there are "cons".... getting in and out of the car because my sciatic nerve starts to hurt, being around people (at basketball games) shouting/screaming off the top of their lungs and encountering traffic (idiots that don't know how to drive). I am trying...

Jilly Bean Sewing Recap - 2022

Jilly Bean Sewing  This year (and last year) my business grew.  I was busy EVERY month with at least 2-4 quilts or 1-2 smaller projects for clients.  I am very proud to where my business is growing.  I am not quite ready to work full time... still finishing up my degree, so when most of the kids are older, I can work full time.   This year: *Completed 40+ quilts, 12+ smaller gifts/projects for clients.  *Made 2-3 UNIQUE signature quilts and worked on a special project (to be revealed in Spring 2023).  * I accepted a part time position at Thread Waggle to increase my knowledge of long arming and quilting business practices. I am slowly getting myself out there and trying to balance out family, church and work.  Here are the bigger projects I worked on:
