Cutting board

Image
Troy made this beauty at work.  Took him a while, but it is NICE! Pictures during church that Bossy D took.  Got Milk? @ Grandma's Bossy D trying to spray the male Duck.  m 2 days ago the female duck got killed  beat up/hurt by a cat.  RIP female duck, no more eggs.  Now we have to figure out what to do with this male duck. Hum? Tonight this little guy did this by himself, while watching Frozen.

Kindergarten can be really exhausting.

Ballet lessons after school?

Even the boy in our family wants to dress as a ballerina and dance like one.

Nelson Farm Expanding?

Image
The other day I had to take Missa to an appointment.  Grandma was kind to watch the two youngest.  She started sewing up one of the MANY projects I have cut out.  It is sewing CRAZY season, I have 6/7 projects cut out ready to start(ed). Are little "farm" is expanding.  I am not sure if I am on board with these ducks.  The chickens do NOT like them and will not go near their coop b/c the ducks hang out near their food.  Will have to give it some time.  We got the ducks for their eggs.  Duck eggs are HUGE and really good.  We now have 9 "pets" (7 chickens and 2 ducks), we may run out of room if we get anymore "pets".  Jare Bear fixing the stapler with band-aids, clothes pin, batteries and eye glass cleaner. This is during "rest time" on a Saturday afternoon.  I had to capture this still moment of the boys.

Baby D's second birthday

Image
Baby D is NOT a baby anymore.  The past few weeks his personality has blossomed. So I think I will call him Bossy D for now on.    The LDS Sister Missionaries joined us for dinner that night to celebrate  his birthday. His birthday candle was a scented candle b/c we lost our candles.  G&G were with us. These past two weeks it has been hard for me to stay caught up on things.  Jare Bear's anxiety's with school have brought on headaches (along with his Pseudocerebri tumor) and it is VERY hard to determine the difference.  He is such a homebody, sensitive and sweet natured.  I sympathize with him about not wanting to be at school or crying every time he sees Missa, me or Troy at school.  I WAS like that.   It is exhausting and saddening to see him like this.  I KNEW that Kindergarten transition was going to be difficult but this is HARD.  I know he can do it and it will take a month or so. ...

Summer ending/school starting

As I have evaluated another summer of adventures I have a few thoughts.  To "rate" this summer, I give it an excellent score, better than the last summer.  I think each summer gets better as I try to plan out things and be flexible .  Here are the few things I have learned: * Create a behavior chart every week * Have an activity/adventure every week as reward for the behavior chart * Do summer school 2-3 times a week for kids older than 1st grade and kids younger than that 1-2 days * Daily chores is a must in the morning to get them moving so you and the kids can do things  * Swim each week (I would have loved to go more if we could have) * Swim lessons at the END of the summer kept the kids going (and not fighting as much) before school started * Go on at least one vacation (use it as a reward for their behavior) * Plan play dates with friends * Mandatory nap/quiet/rest time in the afternoons almost everyday to everyday (depending on the ages of...

Crazy A - starting Preschool

Image
My IPad screen.  Yep, the kids and Troy put it on there.  I think they are obsessed with Frozen.   Baby D took 20 pictures of him... on... my... IPad. Crazy A - This little one thinks she can do SOOO many things by herself because now she is going to Preschool (A co-cop with other kids and moms).  She can... she can talk like a teenager, dress herself faster than anyone in the house, help others put their shoes on or their seat belts AND paint her nails.  I have supervised her in this adventure and she has "painted' her nails about 5 times in the past two days.  I think it is an obsession once the color comes off the color must come back on.   And this little guy... misses Crazy A when she goes to Preschool.  He is not totally sure what to do with himself.  At first I was going to get him (and April as a fall back plan) into a Ready To Learn class at a local Elementary school.  As I have been ...

2014 Family Pics

Image
I feel like EVERY year we get jinxed and take pictures in the extreme cold (UT and NC). This year that wasn't going to happen. It was hot, muggy and a ton of nats. i guess you can't get everything you want. Thank you  Emily Bennett  for taking these. We had a great time and got some great pictures!  Note:  I had all the colors coordinated with the clothes of the kids.  I had everything picked the morning of ... and one child did NOT cooperate.  Can you tell which one?  Crazy A.  She did NOT want to wear the same top as Jackie or the skirt/leggings OR shoes I had picked our for her.  It was a lost cause and I decided that I would rather have a happy child than a cranky one.  At least this year I got them dressed!  Each year is getting slightly better for pictures.
