Christmas Traditions

Image
This Christmas was nice and relaxing/hectic and busy. For Christmas Eve we stayed home and were invited over to another family's home (The Strate Family) for dinner. The dinner was excellent and the company was great! They have 7 kids, ages 5-18 and mostly girls. Our kids had a blast with everything and the excitement, but it didn't last long b/c the twins started to get cranky. We then headed home to start our family traditions.   One family tradition that I have carried on from the Bartholomew side is... Opening presents on Christmas Eve. I have always loved opening up presents on Christmas Eve. Then in the morning Santa comes and you get the "big" present (not wrapped). The twins lasted about half way through opening presents and then went to bed. Missa absolutely LOVED IT. We were able to celebrate at home with just our own family.   Christmas morning we got ready and headed up to Troy's parent's home. We opened presents that after...

Pre-Christmas Fun!

15 months old already?

So today we went in for the twins 15 month appt. They are doing great and are healthy. Here are the stats for them: "Jare Bear": Weight: 20.86 lbs (6%) Length: 31.1 in (45%) Head Cir: 17.6 in (3 %) "Jacolina" Weight: 20.19 lbs (10%) Length: 30.51 in (47%) Head Cir: 17.4 (10%) Both of them are supposed to be wearing glasses... Jacolina (& Missa) wear the glasses with success. Jare Bear usually rips them off within 2 seconds. We keep trying!

Missa's New Haircut

Image
I also got a haircut too but haven't gotten a picture yet. She looks so cute. A friend of ours in the church works at a really nice salon and she discounted her prices in half for the Holiday Season. She did an awesome job. It was really hard to find someone as good as Laura Alvarez AND a comparable price! Thank you Heather!

New Car Seat & We have a Walker

Image
We needed to upgrade in carseats for Jacolina and so here it is. Also the other night for FHE we went to Target. I took pictures of the kids b/c all we had to do was walk to the car and into Target but it was sooooo COLD that I wasn't going to chance them being miserable. Here are my little kiddos all dressed like snowman. Jare Bear is FINALLY WALKING!!!! He has been doing 2-3 steps for the last week or so but then this week he just started to walk across the room. The funny thing about him... is.... he gets really excited and then falls with a HUGE smile on his face. I was not at all worried about him walking later than the girls b/c he will catch up to them. So here is when my kids have started walking (so I don't forget): Missa - 12 months Jacolina- 12.5 months Jare Bear - 15 months

Christmas Village with a BIG Three year Old

Image
Troy and I went downtown to see the Christmas lights in the Village near the government building. We went last weekend also with Rachel... but my kids weren't dressed warm enough. So last night the YM and YW in our ward went as their activity. Since Troy is in the YM Presidency we went as a family. It was COLDDDDDD>>>>> less than 25 degrees. As you can see our kids were dressed appropiate this time. :)   Here is our BIG Three Year OLD!!! We went to the doctor for her Well Checkup and she is very healthy. Side note: She is picking out her bows now to put in her hair. lol Missa's Stats: Height: 37.2 inches (54%) and Weight: 33.5 lbs (76%) and BMI 17.0 (84%)

Payback time!

Image
Usually it is the opposite... Jare Bear is attacking her. But not this time.. PAYBACK! (note: sorry the picture isn't clear)

Thanksgiving weekend

Image
Last weekend Troy and Missa put up the Christmas lights. The other pictures are just random fun ones. Jare Bear is almost to walking... he takes 2-3 steps and gets really excited. I wonder how Jacolina will do when she realizes he is at "her level" and will chase her. hum.... :)   On Missa's actually birthday, I thought we better do something special for the day. We baked cupcakes with her friend. He and his little brother (who is the twin's age) come over once a week. They had a blast and loved helping, decorating and eating the cupcakes!   For Thanksgiving, it was the Bartholomew Utah siblings get together. Here are some of the excitement with cousins. AND yes Grandma B, she is wearing the cute outfit you got! The kids are the Tucker's, Bree and Travor. Side Note: Aunt Cho was there too... but for some reason I had only one picture of you, Cho and it wasn't the best one. So I decided to "X-nay" the picture. :)

Thanksgiving weekend 2

Image
Here is the rest of the clan on Thanksgiving morning. Taylor is holding Jare Bear, then Halle in the right bottom corner, Bree and then Travor.   Then the Bart's came too! The girls loved playing twister, it was hillarious b/c really only 2 of them were "playing". We had a blast and Thanks Tuckers!

Baby #4 Is.................

A GIRL. I guess Jare Bare and Troy will out numbered for the time being. :)

Weekend with Nelsons

Image
Once a month we spend time with Troy's extended family and then my extended family. This past weekend we traveled to his parent's home and celebrated Marissa's birthday. Missa is very lucky b/c we are celebrating her birthday twice. When we go to my sister's house for Thanksgiving, we are going to celebrate her birthday there too!

Bath time

Image
During our bath time we have lots of fun splashing, standing up, sitting down, drinking the water, playing with the water nozzle, pushing the other sibling down, stealing bath toys and swimming like a fish. But sometime as a mom do you feel like you might as well get in with them... Which one of these option fit you the best when you are giving baths to your kids: 1. Stay dry 2. Get a little wet with a few splashes of water on you 3. Get soaked, your pjs, hair and shirt b/c of little ones splashing so dramatically that you can't help but almost get in with them. I have to honestly say... #3... Today was the worst or wettest bath time I have had in a while. I was SOAKED. By whom you ask------------Jacolina. She is hillarious and will flap and splash as fast as she can. SIGH. oh well :) I wish I could have gotten a picture.

Continued Sickness and Miss Lady Bug

Image
Here is miss Ladybug going to the Ward Halloween Party. She was the only one that could go with Mommy. Isn't she cute?   As you can see we are "filled" with medicines at our house for everyone... This has been our life the last few days... DRUGS/medicines to get better. You can probably see the writing on the syringes, that is my way of being organized so that I don't confuse the kids stuff.

What did we do for Halloween?

Image
You don't want to know, but here it is: 1. I spent 4 hours at the Instant Care doctors office and running around town to get to a Pharmacy that actually has the Oral Suspension for Tamiflu. 2. Finding out that Jare Bear has the flu and I probably do too (not till Monday for sure will we know). 3. Missa and Jacolina went Trick or Treating with Daddy and got some candy. 4. No pictures of the girls in their costumes b/c I had the camera with my by accident. 5. House was a mess b/c we ALL don't feel good, except for Jackie. 6. I didn't get to see my girls trick or treat b/c I was getting medicine and at the doctors. 7. Last but not least... At least we are getting the flu now instead in the "dead" of winter. We still can go outside and get fresh air without freezing our little bums off. AND I can still get vaccinated for the H1N1 flu shot as a "booster: Side note: We all had the regular flu shot and we still got sick even with staying at home. Keep that in mi...

Costco accepting Foodstamps

Side note from me: I am really glad they are doing this. This will help poor college students who are married with kids. The certain foods that we need like, bread, meat, canned goods and snacks will be a huge save for us and the Foodstamps. Thank you Costoc! Costco Wholesale Corp., one of the country's largest warehouse-club chains, said it will start accepting food stamps at its 420 stores nationwide, as the number of Americans receiving government assistance continues to soar. Under pressure from politicians, Costco began accepting food stamps at six New York City stores earlier this year and was surprised to discover that this led to a rise in memberships and sales. Other warehouse-club chains began accepting food stamps within the last year. "Given the economy and layoffs, this was a positive for our members and the right thing to do," said Richard Galanti, chief financial officer of Costco, which is based in Issaquah, Wash. More than 35 million people received ...

First Snowfall of 2009/Haircuts

Image
J&J loved their first taste of "Dookie Balls" or No Bake Cookies. YUM..... Missa has a new look... hair cut that is slighty layered, above her shoulders and a small hint of an A-line cut. I was tired of the stringy long hair AND she also got glasses! She wears them much more than Jackie. ALSO we got our first official snowfall. We did get snow about 2 weeks ago in the middle of our fall (WIERD) but it didn't stick. I want this to go away until at least Thanksgiving. But oh well... what can you do when you live in Utah.

Any one interested in Patchwork Stockings and/or the Pattern itself!

Image
I am officially on www.youcanmakethis.com with my Patchwork stockings Patterns. Take a look, there are lots of cool patterns on this website. I am also selling 4 of my Patchwork Stockings on Etsy. Hopefully there will be more patterns to buy, so keep watching!

Chow Mein Noodles?

Image
Can you guess which twin this is in the picture on the upper right? Jare Bear or Jacolina (new nickname)? Troy went hunting with my B-I-L, Geff last weekend up Mount Timpanogas.   So this is what happens when you fall asleep for 45 minutes. I had been making deserts for a jewelry party and after getting done I needed to rest. Missa had Chow Mein noodles with her and was walking around (big no no in our house). Well 45 minutes goes by and things are quiet. I am thinking oh this is great! For them it was... eating noodles off the floor. Hey it kept them quiet.
