 Another sewing project - A quilt I made for a friend having her first baby.  She and her husband are Jare Bear's teachers at church. Friend's House Today our summer adventure was going to our friends house. We have made some new friends over the summer - The Sumners (They came to our house for July 4th).  We met at Therapy and have become good friends.  One of the many things we have in common is:  5 SMALL, close in age CHILDREN. She has an:  8 yr old boy 6.5 yr old girl 5 yr old girl 3.3 yr old boy 18 month old boy There are other things in common are: they have good moral standards, church going people, discipline is very similar, we have children with slight special needs, we think a like and many more. A week and a half ago we went to the Mall for a Family Fun Friday Night.  Plus I wanted to see if there were any deals at The Children's Place :) Nope, there weren't, only online. Library Story Time Every week we go to the Library on Wednesday or Thursdays.  Picking a day to go just depends on how busy we are. Now that we have been going every week, the kids get the routine and I was actually able to take pictures.  

We have a historic farm about 20-25 minutes away.  I met my sister and a friend (Ana) there today.  It was worth it.  There were no other kids there, we had the place to ourselves, a slight breeze, not to hot and we didn't stay there super long.  Historic Oakview Farm    has goats, a cotton field, pecan field, vegetable, herb and flower garden, fruit orchard, old farm house, interactive barn, cotton gin house, lots of shade, cemetery, plank kitchen, tenant house (being renovated) and a visitor's center with interactive toys.  It has been updated nicely since I last went as a kid.  Ana and my kids got along pretty well.  She has 4 boys and 1 girl... I have 3 girls and 2 boys.  Jared and Derek were in heaven with the other boys.  The Historic Farm has interactive backpacks you can take along with you.  Missa got the preschool barnyard pack to help with the littler kids and Ana's 9 yr old girl, got the Ante...

Summer Adventure - Watching the neighbor put in more concrete near his mailbox.  They are also doing renovations in their garage but this was more exciting for the kids. He did this to himself, I did not help him.   Summer Adventure - Grandma & Grandpa's House My parents are about to put their home on the market for sale.  LIKE any day now.  Their are stagging it and hopefully taking pictures today or Saturday.  Needless to say my mom has been stressed. My sister, Anne is helping her.  Anne is awesome with stagging but the hours she spends on a home fixing up are grueling.  With all the renovations the past 4 months and cleaning up of my parents home it has been very hard to "stay away." For the most part, we still have been able to come over a play.   But not this week.  I had tried to communicate where I was going but without a cell phone it has been hard to stay in contact when I am out and about. ...

 Being part of the Miracle League of the Triangle has given us some great opportunities to meet people, make new friends and experience things that we normally wouldn't have. This past weekend the twins were invited to a Special Needs Baseball Clinic for the Carolina Mudcats.  I was just a little hesitant b/c it was outside for 2.5 hours and that is just too much sun/hotness for Jacolena.  Our first station was inside at the clubhouse, batting cage and player's "locker room".  Which was awesome!   The kids were so excited about throwing balls, playing on the exercise equipment, eating snacks of the players and "seeing" the room with all the jerseys.  Going thru the tour brought back a LOT of memories from going to my BIL's games.  My BIL, Brad played for the Minor Leauge teams of the Braves... the Danville Braves, Kinston Indians, Myrtle Beach Pelicans and another team in Georgia.  The weather was...

 Our Church Youth group put on a Special Needs Carnival this past Friday.  We stayed for 1.5 hours.... it was pretty good.  We had two volunteers with us... one that followed Missa and the other followed me and the other four kids.  This little guy got MESSY. Inside stuff: face painting, bowling, bean bag tossing, drawing, cake walk, guitar singing, decorating crowns, and a huge Jenga game.  The outside stuff: Baseball throw, bubbles, painting, water balloon tossing, hair station, snow cones and music.   Cousin Grant was there for the activity volunteering.  The painting activity was a MESS, but the kids had a blast.  After we got home... a long nap followed.  Definitely worth a good summer adventure. Oh... I cut two of the girls hair... LICE.  Well, only in one of them.  But for now on, if I find anything in the hair, it has to get cut.  Even though I real...
