Yard "Sale-ing" and playing

Image
"Crazy A" has at least 2-3 of these Pedi-Sure drinks a day.  There are supposed to be for "Jare Bear" but he doesn't like them.  Guess we don't have to worry about her weight gain. Right now "Jacolena" is into carrying this little house I made YEARS ago.  I think I will have to make her one for Christmas. :) I gave these two sidewalk chalk and they "went to town" on the driveway and on their broken John Deer Little Gator.   I have learned a few tricks when it comes to Yard Sale Shopping .  I thought I would share some b/c I have found some really awesome deals in the past few years. 1. Check out Craigslist and Local News Station websites about 3-4 days in advance. 2. When finding the Sales... Map Quest them first to see how close they are.  3. The more detailed the list of items the better the seller. 4. Go to only 2-3 Yard/Garage Sales in one morning AND map out the route.  One of my Yard Sale fin...

My Neices and Nephews

Image
This has nothing to do with the title.  But my cousin, Lin posted this on FB.  I thought this was a great photo of my family and some of my cousins on my Dad's side (Bartholomew).  This was probably taken in 1986 or 1987.  I am in the front second to the left.  All my older siblings are in this, Annie, Sherrie, Brian and Rachel. Here are my oldest nieces and nephews: Taylor 16 Halle 13.5 Elise 12 Grant 15 (he has grown a ton in the last year) This past weekend they had the opportunity to go to the Salt Lake Temple with my sister and her YW and YM.   How awesome!

Conversation with my almost 7 year old about boys

I rarely am able to remember funny conversations with my kids.  I just forget to write them down.  But I had to get this one down for posterity sake: Today at the pool, stopping by to see my cousins: Missa: Mom, guess who is here? Me: Who? Missa: Jack ( Emily Peterson Whitby ) Me: You mean, Ryan ( Kim Shelton Moore ) Missa: Oh yeah, I remember now. He used to be with me in preschool @ Miss Jans. Mom, I LOVE him so much. Me: No, you don't. You LIKE him. Missa: No, I love him! In the car on the way home from visiting the pool with my cousins: Missa: Can we have Jack to our pool? Me: You mean, Ryan? Missa: Yes, I mean Ryan. He would LOVE our pool. Me: (trying to ignore where this conversation is going) O.K. well I will have to talk to his mom. Missa: That would be so awesome for Jack to come, I mean Ryan could come to our pool. At home: Me: Missa, you know he is younger than you, right? Missa: Mom, he is only just a year younger than me! And he has blonde ha...

Childhood Visitors

Image
The Little Guy crawling everywhere!!! Amy (another friend) and her baby with Jean. My childhood friend of mine, Jean, came to visit us this weekend.  It was a whirl-wind of 2 days but we had a LOT of fun.  She was able to show her kids her childhood home, high school and other stuff. Saturday night the kids were estatic about making popcorn.   My Baby D is such a flexible little guy. These three were a hoot to watch.  Ronnow is the same age as Crazy A (3).  He and Jare Bear played so well together.  The played with their "cars" in the garage and their trains. Here we are with eight of the nine kids.  Me, Missa (6), Crazy A (3), Claire (8), My twins (4), Ronnow (3), Cadence (7) and Rex (11 months) and Jean. And here is the ninth child in the arms of the photographer.

Look who is crawling....

I am so glad he hasn't started crawling till now.  I just wasn't ready for a mobile child/ toddler/runner  yet!  But oh well.  He finally started crawling yesterday and I am really a  happy about it.  He started crawling about when my other kids did: "Missa" - 10 months - crawling "Jare Bare" - 12 months - crawling "Jacolena" -11 months - crawling  "Crazy A" - 9.5 months - crawling Little Miss Princess showing off her new boots someone gave us. My big but little 10 month old.  I love how much hair he has. :)

Want Blueberries?

Image
Yesterday I stopped by a church friend of my mom's to pick up some boxes.  As I entered her house, I can upon this~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never seen so many blueberries in one spot like this before.  This is just amazing.  I asked if she could get a picture of this and send it too me.  She also was really kind and let me take a few (well a lot but not compared to this much) to keep.  Of course by boys love blueberries. If anyone in the ward (congregation) or friends want blueberries just email me.

We did it... we bought a home

"Jare Bear" really wanted to swing the hammer. Yep, you heard that right.  We bought a home about 30 minutes away from my parents home.  It is still in the "area" of the Triangle, but just barely.  The town we are in has everything we need, a Target, Walmart, Kohls, same therapist (satellite) office, same pediatrician (satellite) office and etc....  ALL within 5-15 minutes.  Although, we are in the COUNTRY.  The other day when driving to the house I passed twp farm tractors coming from the other direction AND we have tobacco, soy bean and cucumber fields near us.   "Crazy A" wanting to help. We closed on this past Thursday/ Friday and started doing the smaller renovations today.  We aren't doing everything right now b/c it really is move in ready but we want to get rid of the "messy stuff".  I used to work in the town and know where most things are.  Before we move in we are doing: 1. Getting rid of the popcorn ceilin...

Trains

Image
Testing out my skills on my camera again with Grandma's flower garden.  The Crype Myrtles, Lili's, Cotton Easters, Hydrangeas, Cone Flowers and other flowers are blooming.  Love the different colors. Not much has been going on this week.  Just going to the library, swim lessons, therapy and doing stuff with friends. Last night we started up a sewing night with some ladies from church.  We had a great turnout.  Basically everyone brings their own project, they work on it and if they need a LITTLE help then my mom, I or Annie will step in. Lately this guy has really been playing with his trains and wants to keep the track set up.  Unfortunately we can't b/c we store his toys in our bedroom (aka the bonus room).   When we move into our new home in a couple of months: 1. He will have his own room to keep things set up AND 2. He will be getting a train table for his birthday (Finally I found one from a friend!) Thanks Rachel. ...

Our July 4th activities

Image
July 3rd The night before we set off our own "sparklers and pop its"  as a family. Every now and then I like to try new things:  reading (yes that is something on my list, details below) making my own detergent  sewing different things I normally wouldn't sew playing other sports than basketball etc.. I have started reading again.  I go through spurts... read for a year, not read for a year or two, read for a year, not read at all.  I stop reading b/c it consumes my life and I can't control the times I want to read.  When I get into a good series or book I literally stop everything else I need to do (my mothering duties) READ into the night and at all hours.  So then I have to take a break to get back to real life so I don't neglect my family. I used to be really picky at what I read, I used to only like mystery and historical fiction.  Now, it really doesn't matter as long as the book isn't rated "PG-13 or R"...
