New Job

Image
It is for real - Troy has a full time job.  Yep. He does!  A few years in the making: 1. 2 years spent flipping houses/renovations with a friend, trying to make more money for the family with other things 2. 4 years in school 4. 9 months working two part-time jobs along with many other side consulting jobs to help keep us "drowning" financially. Basically 7 years we have waited for this transition!  Troy will drafting designs for a cabinet company that isn't too far away.  This job will get him in the field/"get his feet wet".  We can start to get out of debt, save for a house and actually go on a vacation with our own family! What do we before we go to bed.. pick our noses and dress up like animals!

More and More Doctor appointments

These past 2 weeks we had  two pretty big appointments for Miss "Jacolena" and one for "Jare Bear. 1. We got a second opinion about her spasms that have been occurring for almost two years.  Her spasms basically mimic her seizures, she is conscious through them and they aren't life threatening.  BUT they a ffect her daily life and functioning.  Two Pediatric Neurologists have told us that they are NOT related to her seizures. Well over at DUMC (Duke) we saw another Pediatric Neurologist and he said YES, they are related.  He wants to get base line information and monitor her for a few days while taking her off some of her medications.  I am SO thankful that he wants to do this.  I am hoping it might answer some questions.  Why didn't we do this before... well we were told these two things weren't related and the spa s ms she will  have for the rest of her life.  Second, we were moving and I wanted things to settle down with our life....

Cousin Elise's 12th Birthday

Image
This girl is 12 yrs old!!!!  I was there when she was born and have been living near her for most of her life (except for 4 years).  I took care of her like she was my baby when Troy and I were first married. Elise and Baby D. Cousin Grant, Grandma and Cousin Hannah. "Missa" and "Jacolena".  The twins and Troy.  Uncle Les with his parents. Early this week we headed over the Halls and celebrated her birthday.  Elise loves to hold Baby D.  She is a really good babysitter, I just wish she could watch all five kids but that is a little overwhelming. Baby D @ 5 months.  So far, pretty good kid.

Dressing up

Image
My boy is a cross dresser…. and he loves the shoes. :) Um… she can't walk in them and does NOT like them.  But she tried.

"Jacolena's" first real drawing

Image
Miss "Jacolena" has been drawing Mickey Mouse faces for a while, some suns, spiders, basically round things.  With her epilepsy I feel like it has slowed some of the neurological development.  So this drawing here is a HUGE accomplishment.  An actual recognizable drawing of an animal: Boo boo Chicken from Mickey Mouse. "Jacolena" @ 4.5 yrs old 2/8/2013

Last year my sister told me about this HUGE Consignment Sale at the Morrisville Outlet Mall.  I honestly hate looking through clothes and shoes that aren't in order.  Part of my OCD nature.  Well I actually went last year and had a great time even being 8 months pregnant and having my oldest with me.
