Multiple Nelsons

 First day of School/Big Kid School/Kindergarten or whatever you want to call it, for us. YEAH!!!  I didn't cry b/c we have been ready for her to go to school for at least 9 months.  Right now it is so quiet.  You think taking one out of the mix of 4 wouldn't make that big of a difference, well it does.  AND I can't wait b/c the twins will go to half day preschool next week!!!  It will be soooooo quiet with just 1/2 kids at home. AH! No baby yet @ the beginning of 38 weeks.  Hopefully I can make it till we meet her teachers on Friday.

This past weekend we decided to celebrate the twins birthday early in case I have the baby boy on their actual birthday (September 3rd).  I actually made the cake, the Mickey Mouse cake.  They both love the Mickey Mouse show.  As you can see the mound of presents, that typically happens at our house with twins.  They aren't big presents, just small gifts from each sibling.   "Jare Bears" expressions were priceless b/c he was soooo animated about every present.  (Even his ties!)  "Jare Bear's" favorite present was his bucket/digger toy.  "Jacolena's" favorite present was her Pal Pluto and Daisy stuff animals. So this morning I made a lovely appearance at UNC Women's Hospital @ 8:20 to turn this breeched little baby boy.  I found out last week through an ultrasound that he had turned and was head up, sticking literally out my belly button. Of course as most doctors ask, "Would you like us to schedule you for a c-section?".  Of course, I say no and what other alternatives are there.  You then go through all the logistics of the different scenarios and I scheduled an "external inversion of breeched baby" for this morning. You might wonder how it went and why I didn't just do a schedule c-section... well I have easy delivers and know that I can handle the turning process.  Why just opt out and cut yourself open when I am perfect candidate for this procedure. Here's how it went: 1. Checked in first thing in the morning.  Took us a while to find out the exact place to check in. 2. Last night after baths I decided to quickly straighten "Crazy A's" hair.  I did pretty good for our first time.  Her hair is so long and looks like it has a layered long cut.  It hasn't lasted too long b/c of the humidty, but it was worth a try.  

  Airplanes - Summer Preschool Last Friday for part of our home preschool we learned about airplanes.  I decided at the last second to take the kids to the Observation Deck at the Airport.   It was sunny and hot but we survived.  Well.... all except "Jacolena". She was just having a rough afternoon.  I don't want to go through too much detail but basically you can't rush her, she has to have confirmation when she talks to you (EVERY SINGLE TIME, 20 million times a day) and she just was tired.   She basically struggled (cried, whined and through a tantrum) the entire time we were at the Observation deck.  Did it bother me? Yes.  Did it stop me from having fun with the other kids? NO. The playground is pretty lame but the kids had fun on it anyway. We went to the bathroom 3x while we were there and we were there only an hour at the most.  But it was cool, shady and the drinking fountains were next to the bathrooms. The kids t...

  I am the type of person that makes list ALL THE TIME.  It doesn't matter what I am doing or where I am going, it keeps my on schedule and keeps me from going insane.  I even have a daily checklist, weird, yeah I know. For example: Daily List *Get dressed *bathe kids *sort and wash laundry *send out emails to.... *vacuum the rugs *dishes *plan dinner *J&J therapy @ 2pm   "Jacolena" got a new cut (I cut my kids hair) for the school year, a short bob, slightly stacked in the back.  I have gotten teased by numerous family members (really it doesn't bother me) for "my lists".  In reality I am NOT the only one in my family who does this.  My mom, my two older sisters Annie and Rachel all do checklists.   I made granola!!! My kids love the homemade granola way better than the store back stuff.   So for the summer I had a checklist of things I wanted to get done, do with the kids and etc... Our summer...

At the Disney Store this past week.  You can see she loves the stuffed animals, especially her "pal Pluto". This summer we participated in our local library's Summer Reading Program called: Dream Big.   Every week we would go to the Preschool Story Time, check out/return books and get rewards for reading books every week.  Most weeks I had all four kids and along with a helper, aka Elise, my niece.  Near the end of the program I stopped taking "Jare Bear" b/c he really wasn't interested in anything but the music.  He did so good for the most part but he is just not ready for books yet. This week I am 35 weeks pregnant.  Time has flown by this summer and soon school will be starting.  It doesn't feel like it b/c it is still so warm.  I guess living out in Utah made me really start to get used to the cool nights in August and cooler temperatures in September. (secretly I loved having snow in the winters, especially for Christmas)  Here are a few updates on the pregnancy (positives and negatives): 1. My feet are now staying permanently swollen even when I lay down at night or for a rest during the day.  I asked my sister, Colette if she could tell a difference and she couldn't. Troy can! 2. When I do lay down my varicose veins almost disappear.  Mine are very superficial and not deep (according to my doctors).  Which is good b/c once I have this baby my leg will almost go back to normal. 4. I am still getting contractions every hour and sometimes a little more if I am outside a bunch or going up and down the stairs too much. 5...

These first two picture are just random pictures at a school park we went to on Saturday night.  Troy was trying to set off his rocket he got from a hobbie store, but the rocket was a bust.  Meanwhile the kids played, we gotten eaten my mosquitos (i had bug repellent in the car and forgot to put it on us), and "Crazy A" pooped in her panties.  It was a memorable park experience. Aunt Rachel came to NC for 2 weeks.  The kids were in heaven.  Unfortunaley these are the only pictures I got of her and my kids.  We didn't do anything huge, like going to beach (we really wanted to) or travel anywhere significant. But hanging out with family and going to pool was just right. OH! We finally got "Missa" some new glasses from Zenni.com.  Her other pair of glasses broke two weeks ago and we tried to fix them and that didn't work.  This new pair fits her much better and they are pink! After the eventful Ward Pig Pickin last night we came back to our place (my parent's house) and celebrated cousin Tessa's birthday.  My parents and Rachel just left this afternoon and so this was the only time before they left that everyone could do it. Aunt Annie, Cousin Elise and friend) G&G Bart   Aunt Cho and Cousin Grant. For the next two week my parents are driving out to Utah (w/ Rachel) and visiting my siblings out there.  We will miss them but they will get a nice break from us too! :)

Part of the festivities was wagon pulling.  There was probably at least 10 different races ranging by age groups from little kids all the way to the adults. "Crazy A" being pulled by a friend in the ward. "Jare Bear" had just participated in the race and totally got dumped by cousin Grant.  He got a mouth full of dirt!~ The spectators! Annie (my sister) and Javita (her husband was in charge of the games and brought the pig roaster) were a little worried when someone got dumped during one of the turns. Les (BIL) just got finished riding in one of the races. We had a really good turn out at this activity.  I estimated there was at least 80 people there.  Plenty of pig, sides and dessert.  The games that were planned were awesome!
