Activity Day Girls that Marissa was in Charge of - Family History and Making Yarn Dolls  2nd Annual Unofficial Back to School Swim Party  (Playdate of Moms from our ward) We didn't really plan for this to happen every year but it just "happened" that way.  It was either last year or the year before we did this same event at another church friends pool with like 8 or so moms.  This time there were 12 moms and 53 kids (I had an extra 4 year old).  Luckily all of us weren't there at the exact same time and my friend's pool was deserted except for our group.    Summer 2017 Beach Trip - Atlantic Beach/Fort Macon State Park Beach  Our First and Last Beach Trip of the year.  We usually only get the beach once a year.  Last year we went in March (kind of cold) to see my nephew get baptized and my other nephew be blessed.  So it was definitely time for us to get to the beach! We drove down on Friday afternoon to Ne...

Nature Reserve Class - Spider Spectacular I should have done these classes all summer long.  I had only signed up the kids for 2 August classes (Insect Inspectors and Spider Spectacular).  These classes were almost 2 hours long, I could drop three of the kids off, only costs $3/kid and they explored nature with a guide.  We will be doing these again next summer. 2 more weeks till school starts!  I realized we have way more stuff to cram into the next couple of weeks.  So many field trips, crafts and adventures, AH!! IF we don't I'll be ok. :)   At times I have lost my patience with the kids.  Around "this time" of the summer I start to run ragged and that is why i plan field trips so I don't become the "REALLY MEAN" mom.  I hope I can make it just 2 more weeks.  One of the many nights the kids decided to "spend the night" in the screened-in porch before the renovations take it away. Made a ton of white bread. Learni...

Picnicing at lunch with Daddy  Over the past few weeks (since being home from our big trip), I had some thoughts about our laundry.  1.  I am always behind... doesn't matter if it is sorting, washing, drying, sorting clean clothes, folding and putting away. 2. It takes me 2-3 days of what should really take me 1 day. 3. I think some of my kids have too many clothes (I have to do this every 6 months anyway) To help solve part of this problem, I looked on a group fb page - Mormon Mom of Multiples.  These ladies have crazy "kids-close-in-age families" like we do with sometimes even more kids.  I looked thru a few posts on how different ladies did their laundry and finally decided on a combination of things. NOTE: I have a slight OCD for unfolded wrinkled laundry.   So basically this summer I have stopped doing MOST of the laundry.  How? 1. Each week one child is assigned laundry chores and has to do it every day: gathering dirty laund...
