I know there are some friends that read this blog that don't get on FB.  So I thought I would put this information up to help spread the word. Jason Edwards (A friend I grew up with on my church) passed away this week from a tragic accident in the mountains.  Here is memorial fund set up to help pay for the men and women that help recover his body. On Friday evening we decided to go to the NC Zoo, of course when we woke up Saturday morning "Crazy A" still was pretty congested and had some low grade fevers.  Back up plan B came - New Hope Valley Railroad Museum.   When we first got there, I thought it was a MAJOR bust b/c it looked closed.  Once we got out of the car, we realized it was open and could go walk around the trains.  They only do train rides on certain days, but it was still fun for the kids to see REAL trains. Maybe another time. It was nothing like the Ogden, UT Train station or riding the Front Runner down to SLC.  But at least it was trains and it was not too far away.  The conductor/manager was really nice (he was doing maintenance with a few other guys) and let us get on one of the locomotives and even honk the horn.  We were almost the only people there (well except two other families), it was so nice!!! On Friday evening, the weather started to turn absolutely gorgeous!!!!  It was badly needed, not that it has been super duper hot; it has been a bad week. Two of the kids have gotten bad colds and we gave some emergency medicines to Miss "Jacolena" to stop her cramping seizures, that make her act horrible. We roasted hot dogs, smores and ate outside.  The kids loved, loved, loved and loved it. This week we had a crucial Neurology appt for Miss "Jacolena".  We have done some tests for her epilepsy/seizures already (PET Scan, MRI, CT Scan, video/ambulatory EEG and Seizure Characterization Stay @ Duke).   A few conclusions we came to:  1. The seizures are mostly localized in her lower right temporal  lobe (behind her right ear) with a few above that. AND 2. They affect her short term memory and language development 3. Three different plans we can do from here on out. I discussed with the doctor the plans along with the pros and cons...

I had to put a picture of them up on our blog.  This is Troy's brother's family and we haven't seen  in over a year.  We used to see them all the time in UT while both Troy and Brad were going to school.  I can't wait to see them this year!

Saturday, we headed over to the State Fairgrounds and went to the Got To Be NC Festival.   It was really sunny and humid at first and the cooled over b/c a storm was coming.  "Jacolena" did NOT do very well and started to have "cramping seizures".  And all the sights and sounds were way to overwhelming for her.  But we finally adjusted. The girls loved the pink tractor. This was before she was started to have problems b/c of the weather and all the people. Baby D did a great job, just chillin'. He almost got stuck getting off a weird way. Hookin' the horn was one of her favorite parts. Checkin' out the really nice horse trailers for Aunt Jennie. Here she is snoozing away finally in the stroller under the little umbrella. Poor girl. Yeah, I know... my son has a pink bib on. We eventually want to get one of these type of gators in the very far future when we have some land! ...

It has been getting nice enough to get the "pool" out in the afternoons.  To keep the kids busy and the house somewhat NOT a disaster, I figure why not? The only problem behind it:  "Jare Bear" has figured out how to really tease the girls.  He now gets a cup or bucket, fills it up and tries to splash the girls.   I really don't mind it, if he isn't hurting them or at least letting them play in the pool.  But when he starts to do it constantly even after they ask to stop... we call it quits with the pool or he gets into trouble.  So here he is not very happy that I wouldn't let them inside. Lately this little guy has been really fussy.  He is teething and it is driving me nuts.  He wants me to hold him ALL the time, me to ONLY feed him and etc.  To get his attention off of me for some short period of time, I put him near the front door to watch the "triplets" "swim".
