Putting up the Christmas Decorations/ 5 yr chkup

Image
Miss "Jacolena" posing with her favorite ornament: Minnie Mouse. Too bad Minnie Mouse is gone. The other day one of the kids threw her up in a Lamp Post. After a few minutes I smelled something burning. 30 minutes later of searching for the smell, my neighbor came down and we found her. Fried up like a melted plastic doll. "Jacolena" will miss Minnie, guess we will need to find another one. Good thing Mickey is still on the tree. :) The reason I call her my "Crazy A". We started putting up the decorations and halfway through realized it was a good thing everything is up WAY high. With basically having triplet toddlers they go through everything and anything. Our decorations are up! But they are high and beyond the reach of little hands. My plan is to make kid friendly Christmas decorations for them to put up themselves. The twins... love playing with the Christmas tree. "Jacolena" - does NOT have Rett's Syndrome!!!!! AND her tremo...

My Thanks

This year my parents flew in from NC to spend Thanksgiving with their children that live in Utah. 4 of the 7 live in and around the SLC area (Sherrie, Brian, Rachel and me). Here are the festivities we did during our Thanksgiving day. I am not so big on expressing my deepest thoughts and feelings on this blog but I thought I better record at least what I have been thankful for this year. What am I thankful for? Family who can cook together without getting mad. Parents and in-laws that love my children. Grandpa Paul and Taylor making the REAL mash potatoes. Grandpa chillin with "Crazy A". Miss Brekelle and her mommy smiling'. Grandma giving "Jare Bear" a hug. More "Thankful Fors": Spending time with family for special occasions. Having humor in the home Nieces and nephews that are willing to help out even when I don't need them too. Kids that figure things out faster than me. :) Singing Happy Birthday to two of the birthday people (Missa ...

The next night chillin' with Daddy. Thanksgiving pictures to come soon. :)

5th Birthday Party

Image
Today we had Missa's 5th Birthday Party... her birthday isn't till Thanksgiving day but this day worked good for us. The kids just messin' around the other day. So when I asked Missa who she wanted to invite she could only think of her cousins and her two neighbors (the boys). At first I was just going to go with that but then realized she has friends. She doesn't go to a formal Preschool and there aren't a ton of kids her age but she has enough friends to invite to a small party. Neighbors, church, old neighbor/church friends and cousins. Some of the girls waiting for a couple of more kids to arrive. Emma, Bree, Missa, Savannah and "Jacolena". So with that I made a limit of 5 friends (including her cousins). 2 out of her 3 cousins came which was awesome~! As the time went on Missa finally started remembering her friends and would ask if we could invite them. I then thought my expectations for having 5 kids wasn't realistic and said yes to her....

My helper

A friend gave us more dress up clothes and costumes. This was one of "Missa's" favorites. I keep forgetting that "Jare Bear" LOVES to help in the kitchen (cooking, sweeping, cleaning, emptying the dishwasher and etc). One day I hear him in there thinking he was getting into things and this is what I saw. :) My Little Helper. Part of his High Fiber Diet: Chocolate Covered, Chocolate Chip Granola Bars with lots of fiber. He LOVES these. The Preschool Craft I came up with at literally the last second... the potato pig. The kids had an awesome time with them. Oh by the way: we are sick again. Colds and congestion have been hanging around for a week now. 6 weeks after the last round of colds. I guess this winter won't be like last. Oh well we will get over it.

High Fiber Diet

Image
(If you don't like potty talk... better skip this post) This guy, right here...... Has had chronic constipation since he started solid foods @ 6 months old. We have pretty much managed it without having to give him an enema. But these past couple of months, he has been sick with colds and ear infections, the antibiotics make him stopped up, he doesn't eat and therefore he is really cranky. Finally this month we went to the doc to take an abdominal X-ray to figure out how bad it was. He has a HUGE stool impaction, it hasn't gotten to the point were he can't push it out but there is a LOT in him. This week we started the process of mineral oil and a high dose of our Mira lax to "clean" him out. Then next week we will start the process of slowing it down and then sticking to a high fiber diet. For 3 years... we have been in survival mode with in between periods of "thrival" mode. But for the most part I really hadn't gotten back in to my stri...

Sam - my cousin got married?

Image
Rachel, My Mom and Dad, Sam & Olliviah, Ann and Les The Bartholomew Clan So some of you know my cousin... Sam Hull. He lived in Raleigh, NC for at least 4 years, graduated from NC State and then moved to Southern California. He got married over the Halloween weekend to Olliviah in the Huntington Beach, CA LDS Temple (He is Troy's age, 32). He considered my parents his parents and became a big part of our family. His mom is my dad's oldest sister. Sam is #9 of 10 children and is the 2nd to last to get married. I REALLY wanted to go... but with T being a student, the budget didn't allow it. (I even looked for last minute tickets. :) Congrats Sam! Here are ALL the Hull siblings.... all 10, 8 boys and 2 girls (they are at the end with my aunt). My Uncle Dale is not there b/c he passed away 3 years ago.

Jackie's Home EEG

Image
During the putting on the sensors. "Jacolena" right now is doing an Ambulatory and Video EEG . Time started last night @ 7pm and was supposed to end tonight, 24 hours later. But little miss had a pretty good day with only 2 VERY small spasms/tremors. Usually on a bad day she has at least 10 tremors and some can last as long as 15 minutes. *After everything has been put on with a little "tweeks" here and there. She had her "bad days" Sunday and Monday. I am hoping tomorrow she will have a bad day so we can get some data!!!! The nurse was at our house for 3 hours. It was hard with the other kids wanting to touch stuff. We made it through, daddy was able to come home after the first hour, feed the other kids and take them to the store. "Jacolena" did GREAT through the entire process. You can probably see a bruise/stitches/scar on her right eyebrow. Yesterday morning she and "Missa" where playing in the bath, horse kicking. Well l...

Our "Night of Halloween"

Image
Twins and "Missa"... while we are waiting for the twins Preschool Bus. Getting ready to go to their Preschool Halloween Party. Our Ward's (Congregation) Trunk or Treat. We combined with another ward and it was a HUGE success. Lots of trunks, people dressed up (if you weren't you felt a little out of place), teenagers, kids and CANDY. "Jare Bear" again did not want to dress up, he basically roamed free but NOT too far from the car. I had my eye on him but every once in a while he would disappear for about 30 seconds and then we would spot him in the crowd. "Missa" hung out at our van and handed candy out with Daddy. She did go around getting candy with a friend of ours. "Jacolena" was of course leashed to me while the two of us followed "Miss Crazy A" around. These two girls kept going back to the same two cars for suckers and to see the scary hand in the bowl, PLUS they got enough candy for all of us. Our van's tr...
