Decorating pumpkins/Baby D Walks!

Image
These two kids crack me up.  I usually don't let them outside together because of a few incidents that happend in the past.  BUT as I was checking on them, they were having a blast.  The twins played for at least 35 minutes.  They love Grandpa Paul's Bobcat. AND at 13.5 months he is mobile, climbing, walking and everywhere. I mean everywhere. Decorating Pumpkins I made paint, well really slime.   The kids didn't tell a difference. She wanted to decorate two pumpkins and that wasn't really a choice.  She choose poorly and cried.   Eventually she stopped and drew a face, then I cut it out. My pumpkin "Jacolena" pumpkin "Missa's" pumpkin "Jare Bear's" pumpkin.

NC State Fair - 2013

Image
We have a tradition of going to the NC State Fair every year that we live in NC.  Each year it does get better because it still isn't easy with 5 young kids.  We went this past Saturday and it was cold but we braved the weather. Jump roping at the PBS/UNC Kids Tent.  Baby D did really good in the backpack for most of the time.  A couple of times he went into the stroller to make "Jacolena" get out and walk. We went first thing in the morning and beat the crowds to the PBS/UNC tent.  We met Sid the Science kid and Read-A-Roo.  This is probably the kid's favorite exhibit.  Lots of hands on stuff for the kids to play with, coloring books and meeting characters.....  Like Sid the Science Kid.    Baby D's favorite part was chewing on the Ring Toss rings.  Yeah we had to move him to the play food area. Luckily Troy brought along on Halloween Candy from the Trunk or Treat we had the night before to h...

Renovations from around 10/5/2013 - The kitchen cabinets getting put in.  Most of the pictures are from Troy's phone.  The walkie talkies were a huge hit every Saturday. Grandpa "building" the kitchen island from three different cabinets. Putting in Landscaping and other misc stuff. I put in a bunch of Hostas in the front natural area. Banana plants and Cotton Easters.

House Renovations End of September

I haven't posted many pictures from the house b/c a lot of them were on Troy's phone.   Taking a lunch break, while finishing up the sheet rock and building a pantry. Troy's sunset while on the way home a few weeks ago.

Haircuts and Bonding

Image
This crazy girl has been battling me for months (at least 8) about me brushing or doing anything to her hair.  I LOVE her hair and did NOT want to cut.  BUT I had to make life easier on me.  So.... I cut off a LOT of it.  Her hair is nice and wavy/curly/beautiful.  I have a love/hate relationship with hair.  I love to "do" long hair in cute stuff (braids, twistys, ponytails, pigtails and etc).  But I also love to cut it to make a fresh start and so that it doesn't look stringy/un-kept. Now that I have done this.................................... I don't think I will cut her again for a long time.  This was her first cut and her hair is just TOO pretty.  Hopefully she will grow out of this "I don't want my hair did or brushed" stage. These two kids already know what they want to be for Halloween: a witch and a bat.  I had no influence whatsoever in what they choose to be. Having a bad day - teething...
